It's a special, bonus midweek Limbo to champion breaking talents 6 Day Riot, who come all the way from London to headline this exclusive Edinburgh date on their latest tour. 

6 Day Riot have toured the UK countless times over the last few years and it's looking very much like 2011 really will be theirs, delivering the success the band clearly deserves. There are hints of Eighties stars The Sundays in singer Tamara Schlesinger's voice but this band should also appeal to fans of current indie-folk-popstrels Mumford & Sons, Zoey Van Goey et al. With critics lining up to laud them, celebrity fans multiplying and a rapidly swelling public fan-base, 6 Day Riot now have the confidence, support and, most importantly, the tunes, to take their music to the highest level. 

Support comes from immensely promising young Edinburgh players The Pineapple Chunks and White Heath, neither of whom we've seen at the club since May 2009. The Chunks impressed Limbo so much on their debut, they played the club again just four months later. This date will see them debut material from their upcoming first album exclusively for Limbo. 

White Heath have forged an alliance with respected Glasgow imprint Electric Honey (former home of Belle & Sebastian and Biffy Clyro) and are currently recording an album with Edinburgh production legend Jim Sutherland (Aberfeldy, The Lanterns, True North Orchestra, La Banda Europa).

6 DAY RIOT

Live the band have really come into their own of late, having supported Seth Lakeman on tour in 2009, played their first headline festival slot at Sark Folk Festival last year, as well as headlining stages at various other festivals throughout the summer and gained a 10/10 live review from Virtual Festivals for their slot at Lounge on the Farm Festival. 6 Day Riot completed a UK tour culminating in a near sell-out gig at the Jazz Cafe in Camden, in Autumn 2010, and were consequently invited to support the legendary Belle and Sebastian at the Barrowlands in Glasgow in December.

THE PINEAPPLE CHUNKS

The P. CHUNKS are one of the hippest, spiciest components of Edinburgh's 'whiny indie' scene. Beware the new, and indeed, only album, 'A DOG WALKED IN', due for release in early March. 
They generally generate favourable reviews in the sympathetic, mutually masturbatory Edinburghian bubble, and have been described as 'bloody good' (Song, by Toad), 'absolutely brilliant' (Hamish Brown, The List) and '[not] lightweight' (Neil Cooper, The List (in a favourable comparison to a live Huey Lewis and the news DVD)).

At LIMBO, 09/02/2011, die hard fans should look forward to a minimum of three SICK new songs.

WHITE HEATH

White Heath are an Edinburgh-based 5 piece who recently signed to Glasgow record label Electric Honey – one time home to Biffy Clyro and Belle & Sebastian. They are currently working on their debut album with renowned producer Jim Sutherland (Aberfeldy, True North Orchestra, the McClusky Brothers) and engineer Graham Steel, due out later in the year.
